parents and children who dare to be trendsetters

IKONKIDS is the brainchild of a Belgian living in Denmark. It stands for parents and children who are daring to be style trendsetters with new, fun, practical things, but seek quality at the same time. Hence the name IKON and KIDS.

Look at it as a sort of “PARENTVILLE” where YOU can find or share products that are hard to get in Denmark. All the items featured on the site result from either networking, my personal experience or from YOU!  After living many years abroad in different countries it still sometimes amazes me that certain products are not available here.  Selecting the good and useful ones, to ensure a lasting positive experience is what I set out to do.

Getting the idea for the website started with SwimFin. Having bought 2 shark fins for my boys I saw the potential of this product and the fun it gave the children. When people visit us they sometimes remark on certain toys or unusual things we have for the children and ask where we got them from. At a certain moment those situations sparked of the idea of the IKONKIDS website and set the ball rolling.

I am using my large personal network of people living abroad combined with an extensive experience in transportation, sales and customer service as a base and value generator for this web shop. My own children are guinea pigs in a lot of situations as I need to be convinced that the products featured on IKONKIDS are things that I would buy.

The whole journey from creating the idea to the actual life version of the site has been very exciting. The reaction of people is great and immediately they can name a few things they would like to share or buy. If you think about it, the resources and knowledge we all have combined is enormous.
www.ikonkids.com aims to tap into this pool of “knowing” and uses networking as a tool to ensure we get the quality and useful products we need for you and your children!
